Imagine a world where the clouds are cauliflower, trees, broccoli, stalactites, carrots, and rocks, loaves. So are the landscapes he photographs Carl Warner, a British artist who builds his dream scenes images with real food. Warner spent 10 years creating them, but now when he published his first book, "Food Landscapes'. It brings together 25 of his dramatic still lifes and the accompanying explanatory text, detailed photographs of the technical process and ingredient lists of their productions.

In the worlds of Warner, which may well be a parent to the lisergia of 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds' or the art of Arcimboldo, sardines or a pilaster can recreate the sea, a path can be made of salami and onion can be a balloon. The landscapes are often used as a visual hook in advertising, usually in food products from major brands such as Findus, Negroni or Sainsbury's. But Warner also assembles some as a personal project. Among them, his favorite is this Fishcape, which recalls "the great difficulty and fever to drop the fish."

"Food is an organic material that has striking similarities with large elements of nature," says the photographer. "It's also something that people have a natural affinity. I am a big foodie, I love good food and dining out. It's something we can all afford to be passionate."

Then put them together in postproduction. I could take pictures at one time, but the food would be impaired to the fore when he had finished installing the background."

Working with vegetables, cheeses, cold meats or fish has, according to Warner, its advantages and disadvantages. "You have a wide range of sizes, textures and colors. But the food is spoiled so fast that we have to work at full speed, especially create a great landscape in the spotlight of the study. Things like fresh herbs are a nightmare, because they dry in minutes.

And what happens to food once made the picture? "Most of the cast between the people on the team. And if we give a lot of the local center for homeless people. "
